i have a 2004 vy r8 clubsport when you put your foot on the brakes the front disc sounds like truck stopping tried new pads i have tried bendix utra pads and i have had the disc machined and now have ebc green stuff pads and it still does it
So you have had new pads put on after getting the discs machined?
If not, then the pads may have got grooves put it them from the discs, and when you machined them the grooves in the pads are still there, creating the noise.
You might be in for a new set of rotors
These brakes are renound for squealing, nearly all do it and there's not too much you can do about it. I installed a set of VY 2 R8 premium upgrade Harrops and had a massive issue with squealing. We had the rotors machined and tried about 6-7 different pad combinations and different types of anti squeal sprays etc. Nothing worked. In the end we ended up just buying a new set of rotors and used Bendix SRT pads. On the back of the pads we stuck some gasket paper on where the piston contacts the pad, but only half of the contact area (like a semi circle). This interupts the force from the piston to the pad (by an absolute tiny amount) but stops the high pitch resonating of the pad. This was recommended by several of the leading brake gurus in the country, and worked a treat.
i also found that when i had signitures on my cluby it sqweeld alot compared to the ve gts'z that i hav on now, im guessing because its a more open rim and alot more air is goin through it might be helping now it only sqweels here and there most of the times it doesnt
