Default CAI for my VY V6

I have read a lot of threads relating to this topic but have not found the exact answers I'm looking for so here goes. I have a VY V6 with pacemaker extractors and a 2.5" catback exhaust and I was looking to get a CAI for it. I would like to continue using my K&N Panel filter and original air box instead of using a pod filter but this seems to be limiting my options.

So basically I'm looking for peoples opinions on what CAI to go for considering my limitations?
What do people think of the Yella Terra CAI and have they had any issues with it?
I have heard about the DIY CAI but not that keen on the idea. Any opinions and thoughts would be much appeciated!

    Cheers

Why are you not keen on a diy idea i cant see why anyone would pay $100 or more for a cai.

If i was you i would just pick up some pipe from the hardware or pirtek around 50mm cut a hole in your air box and run in under the head light

I guess I just want the "neat, professional job" look and to do it properly rather than a DIY job that looks like crap, in saying that I have not seen any pics of a DIY job so it might look just as good. You wouldnt have any pics would ya? Cheers

Check out the CAI: Alien By Design or Two Hole Mod and MCAI

I think both end up pretty incognito as far as looks. Your only option for a CAI in a VY V6 which isn't a pod filter that I know of is the FIT Type-S CAI which is really just a premade kit to do something similar to the above posts

I would take a picture for you, but my box looks exactly stock. I just ran a 63mm pipe down into the grille and drilled a hole in the side of the air box

so you only went with a 63mm pipe and not 90mm like the others? any reason for that?

We did it with 90mm ag pipe on my friend's VU, but it sounded like a drainpipe so i stuck with it smaller. Probably not as much of a gain compared to the 90mm but we're probably talking about .5KW difference.

ahh fair enough. does that mean the yella terra CAI will make a similar noise considering its 100mm? or is it all to do with the pipe thats used?
