    Default vinyl wrapping interior moldings

wondering whether it is at all possible to vinyl wrap the moldings around the rear side window and the pillar moldings in a vy ute, the beige sh*t colour just doesnt suit it, and i'm wanting to give it a dark blue or black colour, and wondering whether the vinyl wrap will work? and i've seen in a VE post that a bloke did it to his centre console, looks really smick, but i want to do those moldings around the door and on that rear side windows.
    Any help let us know

Yeah Gordo, I did my VY sedan with black fur. I did the console bin lid, all the plastic trims, door inserts, parcel shelf and even stuck it to the headlining. I've seen on here somewhere that someone did a similar thing with vinyl. Would be different to using the fur, as i superglued it all the way around the back of the trims- no glue on front of trims, but I reckon you'd have to use glue on the front as well for vinyl. A good glue to use is permatex headlining and carpet adhesive, but clean all your trims thoroughly with metho first. Down beside the windscreen where the sun would fade the fur, I spray painted that part black, so to with the b pillar moulds, so I wouldn't worsen the blind spot with fur, but with vinyl you could just cover these as with the rest. Happy to help with more details.

Yeh i can get the headlining professionally done for about $187, just wanting the top half of the interior to match the bottom half, i dont know why they thought they'd throw the top half in that beige colour, looks shocking, especially in a storm, so thanks for that, not to sure on the "FUR" side of things, might see if i can get a vinyl to match the dash or something similiar

Yep I agree about that terrible beige colour. You don't have to use fur lolz, but it would look awesum done in vinyl.

Well i have spoken to some blokes here about it, and they dont think the vinyl will stay on those plastics, not sure why though, i would of thought the vinyl wrap would stick just as well on a rough surface as it wood on a smooth one, but i got the picture in my mind on how it would look and thats how i want it, so whether i throw some of that permatex stuff behind it to help stick it, whether i just get the vinyl spray stuff, and coat the b*astards with that. That will be a last resort though

Well the Permatex is heat resistant. And there is a brush on stuff I got from Bunnings to do the door trims (fabric to fabric) I used it for the last bit of the headling too when the permatex spray ran out. I think the brush on stuff was SIKA contact adhesive, and I bought a tin of either 500ml or 1 litre. Both have worked really well. Have a look in the "how-to" section for the "how to replace headling" thread. It gives a list of some good adhesives and maybe a few tips, too. Cheers.

problem with vinyl is that its usually fairly thick and doesn't bend well around tight contours and in more than one direction at once, leather would be better, but expensive... best bet is to go to spotlight and see what you can find there, sometimes you can get like a matte black polyester, its really thin and will wrap around anything, looks pretty much the same as leather/vinyl too!
