I've got a HSV steering wheel and hsv airbag on my ute, the black paint on the hsv badge bubbled a bit from being in the sun too much at work. Bought a replacement off ebay. but I'm not sure how to get the old one off, and don't wanna risk the airbag deploying.
any advice?

Need your computer tuned, or dash calibrated??? Want your PS3 fixed, or wish to prevent the YLOD?
Pull your Air bag fuse out if you are concerned about it deploying...
[EDIT] - Maybe pull your horn fuse out too, Just in case it gets a little frustrating![]()
just diconnect the posative battery termal..... always do that when playing with anything to do with the airbags
and apparently peoples say to wait for about half hour or so to let the power drain out or something.
Todays air bags are much safer than the first ones, however like all explosive charges always always use caution when playing in this area.
to take it out there is 4 little holes on the back of the wheel you need to get in there with something like a flat blade screwdriver and twist the clips and it will pop out, you will see what i mean when your doing it
As others have said remove the battery cable first
thanks for the relplies, I have had the airbag off before, a few times actually. As I fitted all the HSV interior myself.
What I am actually trying change is just the "hsv badge" on the airbag itself.

its only glued in isn't it? .. just a screwdriver and pry it off maybe.. thats what i would do anyways lol
Unfortunatly it can't be removed. I work in the industry replacing airbags and the holden badges are actually rivoted on in a way with these plastic kind of rivots that sit behind the badge, (it's quite hard to explain) but without actually destroying the airbag is virtually impossible sorry to disappoint...
