    Default Fuel Pump upgrade

Turns out that after I whack all these bits in my ute I'll be needing a larger fuel pump. Is there a straight drop-in replacement for the old shock-o-tech VY V6?

I believe Walbro make a higher flowing pump. Or wouldn't an L67 pump fit?

I didn't think about an L67 pump. Are they any better or just the same?

You're better off going for a bosch or walbro high-flow equivalent. Apparently the L67 pumps need a little more than bolting them in..? Something to do with the 2 speed controller for the pump???

Don't bother trying to fit a genuine L67 fuel pump as the VY utes Swirl pot is different to the sedans. The L67 Swirl Pot from a sedan wont work in a ute & the L67 pump is of a smaller diameter & has a second venturi jet pump intake to the L67 swirl pot. To much trouble to convert. The Walbro 255 LPH High Pressure pump is the best one to fit in place of your stock fuel pump. Make sure you get the F20000169 model walbro intank pump as it has the fuel pump inlet & offset sizing correct to the same as your stock pump.
Either that or install a surge tank set up & a Bosch 044 offf that using your stock pump as the surge tank fill / lift pump.

    Cheers

How did you get the plastic case off the sender unit to get to the fuel pump and the filter in the tank? Does any one know? I just want to replace the pump and filter in the tank but cant get it out of the sender unit. If any one knows what im on about. The sender unit is out but i cant dismantle it enough to get to the pump itself. Thanks
