Looking at replacing my sway bar links with Nolathane ones. They have 2 kits, 42708 and 42708X.
The second choice has the twin ball style links and looks a bit thicker.
As there is only about $25 difference with the 2 what would the advantages of the 42708X kit be and what does the twin ball style do?
Thanks
Dan
There would be a certain amount of pre load on factory bushes. My understanding is the proper nolathane kits (red) have bushes designed to reduce or eliminate this pre load and you simply tighten the top nut until tight as opposed to a certain torque.
I'd say the setup with 2 ball joints would have lower pre load and would probably last longer and for only an extra $25 it's probably the best option. Have you looked them up on the Nolothane web site it may give you some more information.
Thanks for that, jsut wondered if it was worth it or not.
And I like the sound of just tightening it up as opposed to torqueing.
Their website is where I got the info about them, just they did not go into what the twin ball style does.
Cheers
No worries if you go the bouble bal joint type can you post back or PM me to let me know hos it went and if you notice anything different/better about the car?
Fitted them today, took a bit of body roll out while cornering.
Made the steering feel a little bit more responsive. The front end feels a bit tighter over all with just those new sway bar links.
Will be fitting the rest of the front end with nolathane bushes over the next month or 2.
Will let you know how it goes if you like.
