ok so i have been looking up different exhausts and have noticed that some sellers say that some wont fit the Series 2 vy now im not sure what a Series 1 looks like underneath but the series 2 has the extractors going into 1 cat and then the exhaust goes back from there, so is the series 1 different from that?
They use this as a fail-safe. All of the Series 1 VY's have a single cat setup, whereas the later Series 2 VY's have twin cats, making them a bit different to bolt up. My ute is a series 2 with the single cat, so I just bought a series 1 lukey exhaust and it bolted up straight away.
mine was also a series two with a single cat ..
cool thanks for the fast reply, yeah im not getting a exhaust just yet but im looking around and because i saw that note on a few different sellers i thought i better check
yeh dude thats about all the difference, early series 2 had the single cat and the later ones had twin cats.. some emission law the government came up with at the time
Does anyone know the build month that it changed?
Cheers.

It was in 2004 to come into line with Euro 3 standards that came into effect 1/1/05. Although I couldn't tell you an exact build date.
