Help with VY handbrakes...

Hey guys, just a quick question...

I have recently thought of buying a leather/satin chrome handbrake thats going cheap because its broken...

Is their anyway I could transfer the insides and functional parts out of my working handbrake (currently in my car) into the leather body of the other?

Its just the broken leather handbrake is in perfect condition on the outside but apparently isnt functional.

I think the outside just slides off some how. it must come off as holden didnt dig it up out of the ground built, however you might have to cut the inside away from teh leather but im sure it comes off without to many problems

Pretty sure the whole cover assembly pulls off, it just takes a bit of work
