You need to have the dash synced with the BCM change to KPH and KLM traveled (only if new display as over 100klm its fixed and not changeable) updated via tech2, apart from that I think your BCM should handle it. Mind the main issue (if from US) will be that the written txt on the decals will be wrong.. Why by from the states. As there are plenty of place's here in AU. Oh make sure you get the correct cluster as there are difference's between series 1 & 2. May be beneficial to make a international call to a Holden parts dealer here just to run through few things as hopefully your VIN will be listed and then hopefully tell you what's compatible.
Cheers,
Dave
pretty sure then can change after 100km
HI guys, I have a VY series 1 (August 03, one of the last) and bought an 02 Belrina cluster for $120, kays unknown. I was gonna send it somewhere and get the kays changed, but thought I'd check it to see if it works first. I have a mate in Tullamarine that programmed it with Tech 2 and it showed 109200. My car had 108100!!!! SO i thought bugger changing kays, just drive to the other clusters kays, which took 2 weeks, popped it in and now I have 3 windows Berlina cluster instead of Executive single window. Just look around at wreckers mate, something will come up.
I myself saw a series 1 vy clubby cluster (white face, 3 window with 130xxx) for $400, that seems good to me instead of ss cluster.
Afetr 100 km they lock in and can't be changed via tech2 unless you pull dash apart, get to the main board and circuits, and modify it that way. Can be done but between $200 and $300 to do, well it better be worth it I suppose.
Under 100 km tech 2 can just pop numbers in at the same time you program your features, engine, trans, rim size etc... Takes a grand total of 2 minutes to do.
I hav a series 1 and a series 2 cluster will work with program modifications.
(according to ASR)
