Default VY Calais/Berlina lower grill mesh

I just recently bought this grill off ebay thinking that it would fit my VY Berlina but it unfortunately didn't. having looked at it again it doesn't look like the standard grill you would find on the Calais II or Berlina II so I'm not actually sure what car it has come off. This grill has the foglight bezels on the very end of the grill as opposed to what you would see on the Calais grill. If anyone can give me an idea of what it would actually fit on or know what car it came off would be much appreciated.

Mate, that looks like what comes off a VE calais almost?!?!!

I bought a Series II VY calais foglight grill for my series I berlina Vy, and it doesnt clip in, but had to drill in supports etc to mount it, then put more supports in for the foglights. It's a bit of work to fit it all but looks good and unique after. Check the pics of my ride, with the grill.

Oh that makes a lot of sense now! Wow did i get rolled. I hadn't looked at it properly assuming it was a Series II Calais grill. Then again that's what the ad had listed the item as. Oh well, guess back on eBay it goes. Thanks for that boordy_23

No doubt someone will buy it off of ebay, fit it to their VE berlina or something. Hopefully you can get the price you paid... as Boordy said, thew VYII fog light grille can be fitted to the front of the Berlina, but needs extra mounts, a bit of work... but looks great. Or, you could just get a VYII Calais front end and you get the fog light grille already there and the nice looking spoiler at the bottom of the front end.

Ye, no doubt someone will buy it, for their VE berlina...or VY berlina....oops. haha

I got my calais bottom grill, + a series 2 chrome rear number plate surround (looks class) for 200$ from a wreckers in Adelaide. So pretty much got the grill for free.

Good luck and keep hunting, you shouldn't get slogged more then 30-40 bucks for the one you are looking for, its a very simple piece.

Iv'e seen a few d***heads on eBay before selling VZ headlights and marketing them as VY/VZ even though no VY would support them without a bonnet/bumper upgrade. Same with other items off of cars - some people either have no idea what they are selling or are looking for poor unwitting vulnerable people to make some quick $$ on.

Ye I had the same thing with a few parts where they advertise VY/VZ, and i messaged them asking if it came off a VY or VZ and they said VZ....well they don't fit arsehole...change the description. I'm looking for new rims for the Berlina for the near future and can get some aftermarket senator sigs...or do you think something like the BBOSS eleanor would suit better? I'm not big on chrome and are looking for 19"

Haha ye they look v.nice, i dunno for mine i want silver to match the paint, but i want something that has less space between the spokes...haha if you know what i mean. Like the Vy senator Signatures and the BBOSS eleanors, close spokes.

And, sweetfu, they can be a bitch to find, you just need to wait around till something pops up. Try the wreckers and stuff, unless you want to go through holdens. But it depends on if you want the berlina one, which doesn't have the mesh it's just the same as the original berlina lower insert, but with fog light bezels. The calais insert has the mesh, which is what i got
