hi guys iv done a quick search and i cant seem to find anything that answers my question. Anyway i currently have monroe gt gas shocks with FE2 springs
Monroe - GT-Gas
these are gt gas not gt sport(which i believe are shorter), i want to lower my car by maximum one spring size prob SL, only want to drop it anywhere between 25-45mm, all i want to do is cover up the gap (which is pretty small anyway) between the guard and the tyre. My question is will i have to change to shorter struts? or are the gt gas ones shorter then standard ones anyway?
thanks for your help!

you dont have to, but its recommended. they wont wear out as quickly as the standered shocks will with low springs, they help the ride not be as sharp.
Shocks are made to travell certain distances. Low springs, shorter shock travel distance. therefore shorter shocks will be better made for the job than OEM shocks. The front strut bearings also have a tendancy to crap themselves if the short shocks are not fitted, which leads to clunking of the strut at low speeds, etc
