    Question V6 Exhaust

Looking into getting a 2.5' Lukey System, the whole lot, headers, hi-flow cats, everything.
Got a couple quotes from a couple blokes around here.
$3500 at one joint, seemed a bit much...
$2000 at another, seemed a bit better...

the $3500 wasnt a Lukey but it was all stainless steel
the $2000 was just mild steel, said it would be just as good

Not sure on the specifics, but im not looking for "shiney", more looking at performance.
    Any ideas would be great

for the difference of $1500 you would be far better with the cheaper setup. without knowing parts exactly that make up these systems its hard to tell... but if you went the 2g exhaust, and spent the 1500 elsewhere you would be happier with gains then just slapping a 3 1/2 grand exhaust on the car and wishing you never did it...

Yeh well the $2000 one is all Lukey, extractors, cats all of it, the $3500 one is a mixture

shit mate, thats hugely expensive. do you get a breakdown with the prices for each part plus labour?

    i don't see $3,500 or $2,000 on an exhaust for a v6 being a good move.

unless they are charging through the roof for labour, you've getting done over with those prices.

Jesus Christ mate, those are expensive exhausts. I apid about $600 for Pacemaker extractors and a 2.5" exhaust, and about $200 for a hi-flow cat. Unless you got the twin cat system that came with series 2 VYs, then it will cost for 2 cats.

Yeh he's a twin cat set up, but only lookin at a single from the cats back, i thought there a bit up there, and i'd prob just look at getting the system without labour, and just doing it myself, cant be too hard to install.

I can do extractors, twin hi flow cats and a single 2 1/2" for $1160 shipped. It will come with a Y pipe as well, but will need a bit of cutting and welding as no one does a VS twin cat set up off the shelf.
