knocking noise

hey guys,
i have a knocking\vibrating noise coming from the front passenger side of the dash (it loudest under the glove box where the feet air vent is located). The noise only comes when the car is warm and only when it is in reverse or drive and the car is stationary. Once i take off or put the car in drive or neutral it goes away...iv tried emptying the glove box, tapping parts of the dash and i removed the plastic cover under the glove box but i cant find anything....also checked under the bonnet with the car in drive and it doesn't seem to be coming from the engine bay......i was thinking it could be something more serious like the transmission (just had it serviced 1000km's ago), also just got new shocks (dont think that would have anything to do with it)
any ideas?? thanks

i had a similar problem with a strange noise when still in gear. turned out the weld on the heat shield went and were vibrating on the exhaust.

I have the exact same problem. But now I can hear it in Neutral. You can hear it when stationary or moving very slow.

If you have extractors check if the extractors or the cats are hiting anything.
