    Default new wheels

hey guys im getting new wheels but im so undecided on what i want....the only decision iv made so far is that they will be holden ones, iv narrowed it down vy gts, ve pentagons and ve ssv (all 19'). Anyway my brother has done some photoshoping for me and im just after some opinions, im open to any other wheel suggestions, also do you think ill have to lower it?
    cheers guys

It's a good idea going with Holden product but I would not use any of these.

IMHO the best looking Holden wheels on the VYs are the 18 inch VZ MONARO wheels , ie. either the VZ CV8 or VZ CV8 -Z.
    See:......

    Wheels

I have seen various VY S and VYSS with these VZ Monaro rims and they look very smart (because they were designed to complement the body style). These are also much better value for money than much of the 19 inch product which is often expensive. I notice Wheel King is running a special on these VZ Monaro rims at the moment (as they often do) and for a quality genuine Holden wheel it's reasonable value for nice wheels including genuine centres, nuts and covers.

I also think 18 inch rims look better on the VYs and VZs than 19 inch product. Most 19s look too big for the VY/VZ body style and you just end up paying a lot more more money than needed for both the rims and the tyres for questionable benefit. (I would suggest no discernible benefit with 19s over 18s on this basic car at legal road speeds). I would rather spend the money on suspension improvements such as new quality shocks that will enhance the handling of the car.

thanks for the replies guys! im still leaning towards the SSV 19"s the wheel deal does pretty good deals on replicas. I know what your saying sean880 but so many people i know always regret getting the smaller wheel, but im still considering the 18" option. Also just found out today that vy gts replicas are no longer available...at least it makes my decision a little easier

Be careful with replicas. There is a lot of sub standard product out there now.

With wheels you usually get, in build quality, what you pay for.

There shouldn't even be an argument, SSVs. No one post after me unless you are recommending SSVs

SSV's will look good but the VY GTS' would look better if you lowered it a little more..my opinion anyway

thnaks for the reply guys, i photoshoped the pentagons with the side on picture they didnt look as good as i thought they would , anyway i think im going to get the ssv's i saw a vz with them today looked great! Should i get a replica pair off the wheel deal (forum sponsor), or for an extra $400 i can get a genuine pair (used, with new tyres no scratches) from my local bob jane the only thing is they said they need to machine the back so it fits on a vy....will this make the wheel less structurally sound?
    thanks again!

SSV's did look Sweet! In my opinion they will stand the test of time and still look good in the future as opposed to the non-holden options.
