Is this a vY foglight switch? Or ordinary switch

I brought this off ebay, I asked the guy if it was indeed a VY foglight switch. confirmed yes, that it had the fog light function.

I got it today in the mail, and to be honest its exactly the same as my stock one, From my understanding the part where you turn it, is supposed to pop up and stay up (which turns on the foglights)

can someone please tell me if this is a ordinary head light switch or a VY foglight switch, i paid 27 for this piece o shiz, or maybe i just don't know how to use it. (i will feel stupid if so)

yeah no worries, when you buy a new one take notice of the part that u twist, underneath the indicator/pointer thing you'll see a little foglight symbol - look in my detailed diagram below:

LOL! Boredom is very dangerous for me... that's usually when I start getting "ideas" of what next to do to my car. I've just finished putting the dash back together after painting it gloss black because I was "bored". LOL

i have a VY ss, have had trouble finding why my two bottom fog lights on the bumper wont turn on.
i have the same swtich as Go_slow, so maybe i need one with the little symbol below then?

You can take them apart and swap the insides over and then you wont have the symbol, so if it dosent pull out then its not a fog light switch

i emailed him to make sure it was a foglight switch as i cant see the symbol, he said "The switch does not have any extra symbols for the foglight, it simply pulls out"

so maybe try pull your out? i think he has modified it to save some money and used the old fascia.

dunno im still unsure if im gonna buy it or fork out the extra 30$ and get one from holden.

does anyone know if an auto elec can supply the relay and wiring? gonna get mine wired up but wanna save some time and money by getting parts but dont wanna get the wrong ones haha.

Do yourself a favour and just buy a new one from Holden. I made the mistake of buying one off ebay, the "person" who sold it to me said it was in perfect working order. Once it was installed 3 of the 4 LED's were burnt out. Told the seller about it and no replies back, reported it to ebay and paypal and they couldn't help out either. You can pick one up for $70 bucks brand new with warranty or take the risk at $60 plus postage and end up having to pay another $70 anyway. Not worth it IMO just get a new one.

yeah but 90 bucks to change hose clamps and a pressure test. **** me. I heard a place doing intakes for 250, i dont think i like thsi mechanic.
