Default Strut Brace on a VY SS UTE need help!

    Hey Guys,
i Have recently bought a strut brace for my vy ss ute and did not even notice that the vy's dont have the strut brace bolts to mount them(unlike the vz's)

im thinking about either welding the bolts onto the strut towers, or drilling holes in the strut towers and putting bolts through to secure the brace.

so has anyone else come across this problem?
and how have you fixed it?

All Constructive comments and critisism welcome

give the boys who you bought it from a yell. they would (ie should) know how to put it all together. Just make sure you get the right nuts and bolts with high tensile strength

Interesting that the bolts weren't already there. I have them sitting in the engine bay of my Series 2 Berlina doing nothing. I would have thought they were a basic fitting. Perhaps not on Series 1 VY's?

people who sold it should know how to install it. Other option would be to contact the company who actualy made the brace. Its not a difficult instal process. Just make sure its even on both sides and straight, mark and drill away. Theres really no technical measurments and such to go on best way to do it

^^^ thats pretty much all i did and you have to drop the struts so u can get the nuts on the bottom of the bolts i think the instructions said to take out the strut out but i just droped them down so i could get my hand in there its really not that hard

That's right, mine were already there, too. I thought they started installing the bolts from factory with first of the VY's? Maybe is only series 2 on.

^^^THAT IS WHAT YOU SHOULD DO^^^

What kind of strut brace is it? Stock HSV one or an aftermarket one?

Either way, nothing needs to be welded just drill some holes, in the right locations of course.
