Hi all,
Am currently trying to find out if a vt/vx front cut would fit onto a vy exec shell. Would it be a big job? or would it be possible at all. The vy i've got has hit a tree head on and would need a full front cut to be repaired anyway and i prefer the vt's to the xy's anyway. Any help on this would be much appreciated
why the vy's are so much nicer???? in my opion anyway. good luck to you.
VY will bolt onto VT/X so i guess vice versa..

I think it would be a very big job, depending on how far back you have to cut the damaged inner panels. If you end up putting new inner guards from the firewall forward and it involves the chassis rails, I imagine you would need a body aligner and jig to ensure the straightness and accuracy of the body. You would have to do it in a properly set up workshop - is that what you propose to do?
i am no help in this area, but i am such a curious person.
can i just ask why you want to no so why?
are you planning on a very different kind of commodore?
i've seen vu utes with vy frond ends so i can't see why you couldn't swap the other way. i'm not sure why you'd want to but hey each to there own
They're the same car, just different front panels - i know of a VU ute that has a VZ front on it, and it was just a bolt on job BUT a few holes for the guards weren't in the right spots and had to be redrilled. You'd need the Entire VT or VX front end including that black bit of plastic between the front window and the bonnet, as you'll notice that VT's and VX's both have the windscreen washers in the bonnet.
It's very do-able, but why not just buy a god damned VT?
na ashbox they were definitely vu's because they still had the vt interior
stick with the vy front![]()
