I went to put a new instrument cluster in my ss today and it came up with an srs air bag fault when I turned the ignition on. So i put my old cluster back in but the fault comes up on my old one as well now. Does the air bag system just need reseting somehow? I disconnected the battery each time i swaped the clusters has anyone run into this problem before?
Go to a decent mechanic and get them to reset the airbag. Or failing that, holden.
The issue is the new cluster will not be set to your cars options - often climate and number of air bags. This needs to be done in the car with the new cluster fitted. Holdens can do this with a tech 2 or a mechaning with the gizzmo. (phreddy on this forum may be able to help you).
As for the air bag fault - once logged it must be cleared before it will stop. If you plan to get the new cluster fitted save getting it reset until it's fitted.
