vs ecotec into vy and ecu problems with cam upgrade

Hey guys,
Im rebuiding a vs motor at trade school hoping to put it in my vy an was wondering if anybody knows what problems i'll encounter in the process giving i use all my later model sensors, injectors, throttlebody and exhaust manifolds due to extra oxygen sensors? im also planning to port and polish the heads, high ratio rockers, new valve springs and aftermarket cam etc, i was hoping somebody could help me out with the ecu i'm told you can unsolder and resolder a chip in or would it be better just going an aftermarket ecu? any help will be much appreciated

i know that you could solder a chip to the old 3.8's as a dodgey... but im not sure with the ecotecs. i would just spend the cash on an AM ecu atleast you know everything its doing then.
