Im getting the 10psi pulley upgrade on the weekend.
I currently have standard NGK spark plugs, Standard leads (replaced 100kms ago) and stock coils and factory thermostat.
The car has 160 000kms on the odometer.
Will i need to upgrade any of the parts mentioned above when I install the 10psi Pulley upgrade?
Cheers guys![]()
get the cooler plugs for sure , and thermo mayb. the l67 coils are fine, they put out the same or more power than the msd coils... one guy used to run 10 sec's of factory coils so think there fine. and standard l67 leads are the most reliable,
will fine the part numbers for thermo and cooler plugs
the cooler thermostat part no is- dayco dt22a. got mine from repco $20ish
the plugs- ngk bpr7efs-15 ,, they come gapped at 1.5mm but need to be regapped to 1.3mm. some people go 1mm gap if have missfiring issues under full boost.. but the bigger the gap the better so try 1.3mm first..
Thanks mate, your a legend.
would you think these plugs will do the job
Colder Plugs for Supercharged V6 Gapped to 1.0mm
Cheers
just get em from supercheap. $4.50 each , there the same. gapping thems easy.
If a missfire is felt then yes change some parts.Just make sure you run 98 octane and delete your boost solenoid.L67torque has it all on there.Stay clear of that linked site above also, they(him)operates as FIT Technologies also.Mace,Y/Terra,BYE Perf,TTT Perf and Intense Racing in US will take care of all your needs at better prices.
If you get a slight missfire then just try regapping your std plugs if serviceable. What charge said above get them from a Autostore.I think the V8 ones are pregapped to 1.3 by memory just go heat range 7 as above said also.Std leads and coils are killa and more than up to task at hand.
so is the 1.5mm stock gap of the plugs too much?
yeah i think it is. think 1.3 mm is pushing it ..
