So guys I basically just wanted to know if it was possible and if anyone had wired up a set of fog lights on a series II VY to an SS fog light switch. Reason I'm asking this is because I'm of the impression that the series II VY's didn't come with the wiring harness, so its not as simple as fitting an SS fog light switch and a set of foggies and away you go... I appreciate any help, thanks heaps guys!!!
Anyoneeeeeee haha???
bumpppppppppppppppppppp
Check out this post in the how to section
HOW TO: Wire up spot lights (VX, VY, VZ and possibly other models)
I have seen genuine Holden foglight wiring looms on ebay too so you will be able to walk into Holden and buy them, I don't think its a matter of plug in and go however
You can easily see if your car already has the wiring for the fog-lights, by looking under the front bumper on either side, behind where the lights would sit if they were fitted. There will be a small connector clipped to the front of each chassis rail, just sitting there waiting for the light loom to be plugged in to them. On the passenger side, there will also be two loose wires (I think they are black and dark green) with separate connectors on each. They are for the second horn used on Calais or as optional fitments on lower spec cars.
If the two connectors for the lights are not present, then you will need to install the complete wiring loom for the fogs from switch to bumper.
Thanks mate for the link much appreciated, I'll be definitely keeping a look out eBay from now on that's for sure and yea speak to my mate who is a mechanic from holden on whether they can source me the loom, cause making my own would be the biggest hassle but if it has to be done, it has to be done![]()
Yea mate that's the problem, mine doesn't have the fog light wiring harness behind the fog light covers... Apparently with the VY (I am led to believe) the series II didn't come with it whereas the series I did, so yea if you have a series I all you need basically is the fog lights and the holden fog light switch and away you go! Instead Holden has decided to make things difficult for series II owners
