I need to replace a pulley off the ss..its off the small drive belt thats connected to the A/C but i have no clue how to remove the belt.
Anyone know?
Cheers.
Locate the tensioner pulley. Use a ring spanner or tube spanner on the tensioner pulley bolt (15 mm from memory) and press down gently away from the belt.
................... As shown here for the V6 cars...engine belt farrkd!!!
Moving the tensioner pulley frees the serpentine belt and it can then be removed. Ensure you draw a diagram of the belt around the pulleys before removing the belt so you do not get confused trying to refit it.
Nah not the main belt..there's another little belt the runs from the harmonic balancer to the A/C unit. The ss has 2 belts. Thanks anyway.
You will have to remove the main drive belt to get the AC belt off as it sits behind it. The main tensioner pulley on an LS1 is the top left when you open the bonnet. The AC tensioner is lower down and looks the same
Ahh right, thought so..
thanks for your help, cheers.
