Totally depends on what your budget is, but if you've got the funds a VE 6.0 would be the pick of the bunch.

should make this a proper poll would be much easier to get a result me personally would be looking at an L67 conversion these things can make bulk power
If its got Wheels or Boobs its gonna cost ya money

Go for the Monaro. Why? Because its unique and looks awesome. BTY, I traded my VE SV6 for a Monaro recently. Never looked back. Don't get me wrong, the VE is a fantastic car, but it will just be another VE on the road. The Monaro will always be something different! Cheers.

i say monaro because it wont be just another ve. the ve may be a better car than the monaro to drive (i dont know, havent driven either) but the monaro has more 'cool factor'

out of those choices, considering fuel prices, u didnt mention wether your current engine has a 5 speed behind it or the auto box but if its a 5 speed, SUPERCHARGE IT, go all out on the 3.8l if not then go for a monaro, thats just my opinion but and i do love my v8s but not in commodores man there a dime a dozen

yes it would be nice but i dunno why, there is always something that just holds my thought back with commodores when it comes to hard work, like i just think there is so many commodores around u know... and would it be easier just to get another vz with a manual box in it then just transform it to a calais or what? i dont actually know what the difference between em all is like i know they all have different qualities but what sets em apart?

No, Just no. Unless you're prepared to spend 20k on the old Shock-O-Tec it's not going to rival anything close to a relatively stock LS series v8. Admittedly mine keeps up with them fairly good but i have spent A LOT of money, but look at people like RCVX who have spent less than 10k on their SS and live in the 400hp world.
    V8 for the win.

Mate there is seriously no point working the crap-otec motor. Buy an 8!! for less money you will get a bit of power! i have spend $1500 on an xforce stainless steel 2.5" exhaust and 2 Ballistic cats, got my car mafless tuned and chucked on an OTR CAI for $990 from GM Motorsport (there was a deal on) and it dyno'd 251 rear wheel kW!!!!! Get an 8 man.. you know you want to!
"If you want more inches.. STROKE it.."

"Wait are we still talking about cars!?"
