    Default Need opinions!!!

Hey boys just need some opinions. Im after some black rims for my Black VY SS. Recently got it mafless tuned and had an exhaust fitted, and getting it lowered this weekend.. so its all coming together nicely! i wont be doing anymore engine mods just yet.. so in the mean time i want to make it look a bit neater than the stock look it has.

I want a set of black rims or id even settle with shadow chrome. Ive gone through mixed emotions whether to stay with a set of Holden/Hsv rims or go after market. Iv decided if i go after market it will only be for a set of Speedy rims.

Im even considering getting my VY SS 18's powder coated black? anyway just need opinions on what you guys think will look good on a Black VY SS!

    cheers!

handling is a big things with rims and it also depends on how much money you have to spend. i rekon getting ur standard ones painted is a good idea as it iwll look good and nover be defectable.

It's your money so you should go for what you like.

Personally I think full black wheels on a Black VY look terribly dull. You then have an all black wheel and a black tyre with nothing to break it up.

If you want the black look I would go for a wheel with a polished or silver rim with gloss black centres. Just be careful with the overall wheel design as some look really dreadful. I would also stick with the 18 inch size rims because that size goes well with the VY body style.

If i end up coating my rims black i will be putting on a red wall to break the black up.. i see where you are coming from though.. and i have looked into the Speedy wheels that come with a chrome lip on them! if you had to pick black rims for a black SS.. would u go matte black or gloss black? iv been looking into shadow chrome VZ r8's too...

I would go Gloss. Flat all black and satin all black painted alloys on a black road car always look like they need a wash/polish or a repaint and are about as interesting as a set of black steel rims. Just my opinion. Others like full flat or full satin black on a black car.

Genuine VZ series 1 R8 rims would look good. These are 19 inch of course.
