VY SS Front Bumper

Hey guys,

I know this has been covered quite well before but i just need some confirmation, can anyone tell me whether or not i need to change my grille if fitting a VY SS front bumper to an Exec (Holden By Design) ?? I have read one post where someone said you do need to but my supplier seems to think i wont!

Can anyone confirm this??

from what i know the grilles are actually different, i also am thinking about doing the same to my rig

Thanks for the reply mate, just received further confirmation elsewhere, you DO need to buy an SS or S grille as they are shorter and an exec. one wont fit. New bumper is 199 clams, grille = 50 clams, paint job and fitment = 150 (i know some people haha).. total cost should be about $400 if all goes well!

fitting it is easy, try your local wreckers first, you may find something already in your colour in good nick too...

Thanks mate but i've already bought it all now! I thought the price all up wasn't too bad so im relatively happy with it, just need to find some SS foggies to top it off

Wiring foggies into an exec is a pain - unfortunatly for you all models bar the exec came with the wiring loom for the foggies. So they'll have to be hard wired.

edit - i could be wrong about the HBD model?

Mmmmm i think your right! will have a good look when the old bumper is off... anyone noticed a gap between the sides of the grille and the bumper on the SS? just picked it all up and mocked up the grille in the bumper and theres some gaps on the side :/

All good, just clamped it down a little so all the screw holes line up and it all fits together quite well... dyslexic panicy moment before

Ahhhhh will do! the bumper is going on tomorrow, once its done il just have to figure out how to post photos on here (im a noob).. then you can have a suss!
