hello i need to change my inlet manifold gaskets i have never done any big jobs like this before only kept to changing oil and that sort of stuff but i am keen to give it a shot i went down and got hold of a compleat inlet manifold gasket set and the guy told me i will need this stuff it is a gasket maker in a tube he told me to use it when i put the gaskets on i am a bit lost do i need it or some think like it or can i just clean the manifold and put the new gaskets on any help would be tops thanks
i think the stuff in the tube is to strengthen the gasket itself.. so you use bothdont quote me on that though haha
Hi I am doing an inlet gasket at the moment and in the gregorys manual it says to use the gasket maker in 4 places, those 4 places are on the end of the rubber gaskets that sit at the front and back of inlet, its a bit hard without pics may i sugest you invest in a manual as it will make it ten times easyier for you, cheers Bob.
what car are you doing it on? VY, VS or otherwise?
use both. the gasket marker is applied in certain places. refer to a repair manual for locations.
