Yes they will fit, (if its a standard rear end) and no, no mods required.

If you have a VY base model, Executive upto Acclaim or SS, you would need a VZ Exec/VY/VZ Berlina/VY/VZCalais bumper bar, and a hole drilled into the tail light housing/rear quarter panel or a little plastic pin snapped off the tail light. The Standard VY has a hole for one of these pins, but the lights have two pins - so either drill the car, or snap off the pin
Basically only the Berlina/Calais got the bigger lights in the VY range, and in the VZ range they all got them except the 'SS' which had the smaller lights, like the VY's.

If your rear end looks like this, then yes, bolt/screw in job...

I know a lot of people don't worry but legally (ADR's) you are supposed to add reflectors when you fit those Calais lights as they don't have reflectors built into them like your current Berlina ones.
VY2 calais and VZ Berlina and Calais have the reflectors built into the lower section of the bumper bar.

Not all VY's executives just have one plastic pin on their tail lights. There was a revision around the time series 2 came out that added the extra pin to the outside edge on the bottom of the light. You'll also notice the reflector inside the tail light that covers the stop light globe is also deleted. I've got a late 2003 series 2 and it has the 2 plastic lugs to locate the rear light assemblies and no reflector in front of the stop light globe. I have a series 1 S pac rear light at home and it has one plastic locating pin and the reflector covering the stop light globe.

VY executive, acclaim, S and SS models all use the smaller tail lights as do VZ S & SS models.
VY Berlina, Calais and VZ Executive, Acclaim, Berlina & Calais all use the larger style tail light.

The main issue is, if someone runs into your parked car at night, insurance might not pay out since your car doesn't comply with ADRs.

Can anyone tell me where to buy the vz calais reflectors? Is it a single strip that I can fit to my bumper?

    Garnish (Called Applique) - 92174549 $21

If you have a strip already, your work is a bit simpler because the holes will already be in the bumper for the garnish to clip to.

You will need to remove the rear bumper to undo the clips - they are strong metal spring clips and there are about 12-16, I can't remember for sure.

The new garnish will clip on using most of the holes, except at each end where the reflectors go. Each reflector is held on by two screws, and you have to drill the holes in the bumper for those screws.

If your car doesn't have any garnish, the simplest thing to do is to cut off the mounting tabs from the new garnish and fix it with strong double sided tape. The same thing goes for the reflectors - cut off the screw bosses and tape them on each end.

Hope this helps and good luck.
    Thank Caliber for that
