and also, i have been told that the VY Ute does not have Leaf Springs? if so does this mean it is not recommended to be used as a work ute? i am an electrician and only carry tools boxes on my load, any confirmation for me on that please

well the bumperbar should fit without any problems and in regards to using it as a work ute or not it all depends how much your carrying in the tray because as it has IRS it wont be able to carry as much weight as a ute with leaf springs but i think (dont know exactly) that its around the 500kg mark

no idea about the springs, but you'll need an s-pack or ss grill for the front bar mate

I can confirm as i just did this on my HBD Exec, as DanieLOL said, bumper will fit fine, just need an S or SS grille (around the $50 mark for a new one).. and i know the VY Crewman still had leaf springs on the rear so i dare say your ute will too... just pop your head under and have a quick squiz

.... just had a look at the kingsprings catalogue though and it lists normal coil typre springs though.... therefore i am going to shut up now..

holden utes don't run leafys as far as i know i have a vy s ute and it's coil springs i'm also a brick layer and i've had a mixer, 2 wheel barrows, shovels, a few bags of cement, lime and my tools all in the back of it without any problems, accept it scraping over bumpers because i've dropped it on it's arse ... the ss bumper is a straight swap and you can find the ss grills on ebay or from a wreckers.
    livin' the low life.

my vy ss ute is on sl's all round and the other day we put 63 of the double height house bricks in the back which was the entire tray bed covered and it only had about 1inch travel left in the shocks. if the bump stops werent there it would have been bottoming out. but omg it looked sex! 17's on the front 15's on the back and almost tucking the back rim!
