Climate control switch

Hi i have a vy exec and want to install cup holders into it and was wondering about doing the whole vy calais look front dash. but i know the climate control change over is tricky and fairly expensive so i was wondering if i could install just the climate control switch to control the 3 knobs i have now so basically can i install just the vy calais dash and hook it up to my existing system. if not how do i put cup holders into the dash

Mate - for a more thorough answer, search the forums - it's been covered heaps.

1. Cup holders can be installed without climate control - but there is a bit of work modifying the console as the cupholders only fit climate control consoles. There are people in this forum that have done it - and there are threads telling you how.

you need the centre panel from a calais (with the cutouts for cupholders) and of course the 2 x cupholders) a tad over $300 for that lot new.

2. You cannot use the climate control switch without doing a full refit of the complete system which involves reprogramming (or changing) body control module, changing heater box and fitting all sensors etc etc...
