Default VY diff problem or something else?

    hey guys,
ive just started noticing a strange clunk noise when i accelerate slowly from stopped. it also occurs sometimes when i brake. thought it might be the diff or maybe some bushes somewhere? but really not sure.

Does it sound like it is coming from just behind you in the middle? If so, most likely the diff mount bush, very common in the VT-VZ.

Not too hard. Remove the diff mount and replace the bush. 4 bolts I think.

I have a similar noise which only happens when the auto shifts from 2-3 (the shift is a bit jolty). Never happens any other time except very very occassionally when coming to a stop when it changes into 1st. Sounds more like a dull thud than a clunk. Any ideas?

Or the front bushes are nackered, thats the frame the diff bolts into.
There is 2 large bushes at the front, they are prone to screwing up too which causes a similar sound.

    Nolathane is the go.
