Hi All,

Driving home tonight, had the alternator and abs warning lights come on, headlights go out and the instruments go dark.

Assuming it'll need a new alternator and maybe globes but wondering if anyone's experienced similar or knows something to look out for?

Cheers.
Rick

this EXACT same thing happened to me yesterday! But dash didnt ust go dark, i lost all power too it. Turns out my alternator was overcharging my battery (alternator was pumping out up to 18v) causing the electronics to turn off. Regulator was shot most likely, but i just swapped the entire thing over for a 120a police-spec alternator for $165. Regulator was about $90 on its own, and wasnt a sure fix. hook up a multimeter to your battery, and from the engine bay rev your engine. if it exceeds 14.3v youve got a problem.
