Driving back from the local store and all of a sudden the handbrake warning light comes on and wont turn off, when i press for dimisters it makes a faint sound as if its the sound of an indicator ticking and the lights dim a tad, but no matter what i do the brake light warning wont turn off, the handbrake is all the way down, and the brake fluid is filled full, any ideas on what could be wrong?
the car i drive is a vy ii series 2 berlina.
I'd say its just dodgy wiring for the light. If you had the handbrake on, or you had a brake issue, the alarm would be sounding (you know the one you get with when you drive off with the handbrake on)
The indicator ticking sound is probably a relay switching.
it is making the sound when i drive off, but it affects nothing, any ideas?
the seat starts to crush the handbrake causeing a fault after a while happened to mine it eventually stopped doing it though..
its stopped randomely now so it may be what you have said, i'll just wait till it starts doing it again and take it to the auto electrician, cheers.
The tick noise when you push the button for your dimistors is the relay pulling in.. All normal unless you're hearing more than one little TICK.
"If you want more inches.. STROKE it.."
"Wait are we still talking about cars!?"
