creaking noise in front suspension

Just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and what they did to fix it? a mate was driving and hit a gutter and since then it has made a creaking sound at low speeds when cornering. but it still drive the same when on the highway. i lifted the car up and took the wheel off and i think it maybe be the bushes by the sound of it.oh its coming from the front left side too. any help is muchly appreciated thanks

i guess you could take it too pedders and do the $14 inspection thingo and they could tell you if something is bent or wrong??

could be one of the arms slightly bent????

it will be your control arm. I know this because i had a similar problem on my vs it will cost you about 350 at pedders

definatelly the lower control arm bushes because i took the front wheel off and it looked like it was bent so i bought a set of poly urethane bushes and puttin them in 2moro morning so ill let yas know how it goes

Hi, ive been reading the comments on this thread and they do sound alot like the problem i have been having. I have a vt acclaim 1998 model and at very low speeds i can hear a creaking sound coming from the frontend somewhere. i did think it was my brakes as it does happen when the car is just rolling and i hit the brakes but after reading the thread im starting to think it may be the same problem. It does happen when i turn corners at very low speeds and if im just sitting in the one spot and i hit the brakes on and off i can hear it as well but i guess it doesnt have to be the brakes (thats why i thought it was the brakes). U think the problem will be solved if i upgrade the bushes, rods etc?
