    Thumbs down troubles with diff

i recently pulled a wicked double legger and have since found out it has wrecked my diff. i believe my LSD is broken as i am able to spin one wheel while the other is on the ground..

im just wondering if it is bad to still be driving around with it like this (driving carefully that is)

cos i have a 1200km trip ahead of me next week and im just wondering if im gunna make it there or not! please let me know what my odds are

    cheers!

What has happened is you have worn down the clutches and polluted the diff oil with bits of clutch. If you are really unlucky you have metal shavings from the gears themselves too.

The clutch type LSDs in Commodores aren't designed to do fully sick double leggers. If you want to do that all the time get a torsen style mechanical LSD.

A harrop truetrac LS centre is what you need for consistency. At the very least you should drop the diff oil thats in there and put in a fresh batch before your trip. You'll need roughly 1.7L of Castrol LSX90.

+1, harrop truetrac all the way!!!
