Question VY Boost Question Relating to the MAF

Ok I'm planning on running a single turbo set up on my VY and I was wondering where do I place the MAF? Just before the throttle or just before the turbo intake?

    Any Help appreciated

So basicaly just leave it where it is. Ok sounds awesome......I have been reading on other forums about how they set up thier MAF and some had it before the turbo intake just after the pod filter.

You can do it that way, you'll just need plumb-back BOV's instead of atmospheric venting ones.

Ahh ok I think I'll go with the atmospheric venting BOV only because I love the sound lol

The MAF has to read boosted air , ie ,air after the turbo boosts it & pushes it into the Throttle Body so it really has to be plumbed in between the turbo outlet & the throttle body inlet. That way your ECU can recieve the message from the MAF that the engine is getting boosted air flow so it needs to supply more fuel to get more power. the ECU does this by altering the pulse width of the fuel injectors so they stay open longer & more fuel is pumped into the inlet side of combustion chamber.
If you plumb your MAF to the non boost side of the turbo ie the Air filter pod side it will always read ambient air pressure so you will end up with a lean fuel mixture signal because the ECU is getting a signal that the engine hasnt got a turbo on it at all, ie no boost signal.atmospheric pressure only

    LOL WUT???????

Holden must of really screwed the pooch with the releases of the L67, might want to let them know that they put the MAF in the wrong spot.

The MAF is a Mass Air Flow sensor/meter. All it does is measure Air FLOW, it has nothing to do with atmospheric conditions.

Think you maybe getting confused with a MAP sensor, Manifold Absolute Pressure.

Humblest Apologies , Yes, MAF goes in next to Pod Filter , MAP (if needed) goes in between Tubo boost outlet & Throttle body inlet. Not all engines need MAP. (Early Ecotecs have it. but L67 doesnt)
