    Default VY king spring squeek

    Hey guys,

About to get a VY which has been lowered with King springs, I had a mechanical check (and drove it myself) however, when going up a curb or turning, there is a creek noise from the front LHS, the mechanic reckons this won't lead to any problems as could be the rubber seal/lose bolt.

What do you reckon it could be?

i rekon its the strut top mount bearing /cushion. Buy a pair from ebay about $100 easy to change out, you have to remove the strut assy & compress the spring with a spring compressor tool then swap over the top bearing/cushions

ah probably more around 150+, it depends what strut top mounts you buy, and if you bother to fix it yourself.
as COLGF said just get them off ebay. nolathane and super pro make them, ensure they come with new bearings.
also a rattle gun makes short work of removing the nut that holds them onto the shocker.

I'd also suggest checking the condition of the front sway bar link pin rubbers.

From what I could gather, the guy that did the mechanical inspection, seemed to think it was the "rubber seal" which is this - Strut Top Mount & Bearing Kit Holden Crewman Ute VY VZ (eBay item 120650639310 end time 22-Dec-10 15:37:09 AEDST) : Cars, Bikes, Boats

I'm hoping it's that and a quick fix, he also said it could be because there's no lubricate on the bearing.
