Hi everyone.
Looking for a "Quick question/quick answer" thread here without any complications
I've got a VY Calais front end on my VT.
I'm looking to change just the grille part to something more chrome.
Is the calais grille setup the same as an SS/Exec/Berlina etc?
Thanks in advance, Tom.
s pac and ss are different to execs
im pretty sure execs are the same shape as berlinas & calais though im not 100%
No, the Exec grille opening is a different size to the Calais/Berlina type and the grilles will not interchange.
The calais grille on my old VX came up well after paint stripper was applied - it stripped the black and left a shiny chrome grille. I have not looked at whether this is an option on the VY calais?

Hi Fletch and thanks for your reply. I'm not too game to go at it with paint stripper, I ordered a new badge for the grille, but was looking for something with a bit more shine.
Unfortunately the VY S2 Calais grille's are different to the S1, but I still refuse to order a chev grille. Never.
I'll keep looking, and thanks to others for their answers
Tom.
I just had a look at mine - the black piece is seperate - an insert attached to the chrome, on the VX it is one piece. I doubt the black part of the VY II grille is chrome underneath.

i had to cut my old chev grill out. keeping the sorunding grill (the black plastic you can still see). i then cut some metal mesh to the correct size. i then used realy strong superglue for plastic from miter 10 for $8
still holding ever since. good look and also more air flow to my OTR.
i'll get a few more pic's of close ups
