    Default Which rotors???

Ok I've been having problems with my brakes for sometime now with shudders and squealing brakes. I have tried all different types of pads an had the rotors machined. I thinking of upgrading the rotors to a slotted or cross drilled. Which am I better off going with ??? Any help would be awesome

I have slotted and dimpled - apparently dimples do nothing but look weird though.
Can't say I've ever had any brake fade after changing.

hey man i had the same trouble so i got some DBA slotted and crossed drilled rotors with bendix heavy duty break pads... well worth the money i reckon and you can easily feel the difference in the brakes.
heres the website if you wanna take a look and i got the gold street series... they look pretty sweet on the car as well

Any new rotors will be an improvement, even plain (ie no drills, slots, dimples etc). Machining rotors is a waste of time imho. Standard rotors, are fine for everyday driving - but don't skimp on the pads (bendix ultimate rock my world).

Another thing - Ever since my VS (4 cars ago) I don't trust anyone with a rattle gun to tighten my wheels nuts. Ensure correct tightening procedure on your wheel nuts to prevent rotor warp / brake shudder.

The ultimates are OK, but in the good version (DB1344 Police Spec) are hideously expensive!!! QFM HPX is a Bendix Ultimate equivalent performance wise, but with less dust and rotor wear, and $79 per set front or rear, and come standard as the police spec DB1344 version, not DB1331.

What's the difference ?? Just the dust ??? O don't mind cleaning every so often as long as there no f**kin noise between the db1331 an the db1344

I found considerable noise with the "police spec" pads fitted - removed and fitted bendix ultimate after 12months - has been for me a much quieter pad with better pedal feel.

I've got slotted rotors front and back with standard Holden pads and the brakes work well with no squeeling. I was going to try the AC Delco pads Holden sell next time around as I was told they are good.

the police spec pad have more surface area ,more surface area = better braking

check out the new repco catalogue.they have 2 discs, pads and brake fluid for $99.(front or rear) might be worth trying out your discs are probably warped.it's a good price for what you get and should fix the problem

Make sure you replace the rotors and pads at the same time. New pads on worn rotors will lip the pads which will squeel, and will still squeel if you replace the rotors afterwards

If you get new rotors I would not recommend bendix ultimates as many users will confirm they will eat your nice new rotors.
