ls1 engine breather cable broken?

hi fellas, iv got a vy clubsport with a bit of wark dont to it cam , heads ect.. i was having a look around in my engine bay and noticed at the back of the manifold close to the fire wall found a pvc tube completely snapped in half and tubes run to the backing of the rocker covers and each side, and also around the thottle body. well it make a difference and is it worth changing? heard its just a breather pipe???

Best to get a new one from Holdens. $80 from memory.

Its the PCV system and is vital and can affect how the engine runs.

Will it do damage? Will it make a difference if it's a mafless tune?

yeah if that is broken you car should be idling like shit on start up for a min or 2 well mine did i just replaced the pvc hose as it was broken in the same spot.just relized this is the vy section mine is on a vx ls1 an im sure they have a different setup so maybe it wont effect the car the same. mine cost $140

its just so the crank case fumes dont get vented out to the astmosphere as they are harmful to the eniviroment. shouldnt do any damage but if in the unluckly case you get pulled by the epa they might have something to say in the way of a big arse fine.
EDIT: also at WOT it will have oil coming out so if you drive like skaife you will get oil in your engine bay.

Haha just got an EPA for noise so I'll be changing that right away!!
