my vy commodore has conked out...and won't restart..help i need to pick the kids up..

i started up this morning ..and drove down the driveway and it died on me..the key turns over but the car will not restart..thesre is a systems ..engine check on the counter..
i have tried putting in a new battery but nothing..
its a vy commodore 04 model and to be honest im a girl who has no idea at all..please help me..whats wrong with my car..

does the car have petrolium in the petrolium tank?

yes it does ..the warning alarm has just alerted me i am low on fuel..but says i have 70k's in the tank too...

put a few litres of good fuel in it, those sensors and levels aren't totally trustworthy all the time, it really might be empty?

sounds like vy fuel sender is faulty.... common fault
put some fuel in tank
take car to mechanic have them check sender card inside fuel tank
