ok yes i know theres going to be a lot of people who are going to say their fake and gay etc but i think they look better than painting your calipers
but since they're pretty much glued on with sikaflex when its time to change pads what do you do? have to snap them off?
discuss please![]()
More importantly do you trust plastic and glue on you brake calipers? The devices integral in stopping your car. Do you think the chance of them adversely affecting your brakes is worth it, just to achieve some supposed looks?

As above, you run the chance of the covers heating your pads/rotor more than they should, which may lead to warping of your rotor which you do not want. I was looking at them myself a while back. Just paint your calipers black and save the possible issues
seriously....?
While any adverse affects on braking are very unlikely, these covers are gayer than AIDS.
Silver Certified.
Just...don't. Don't do it. And paint your calipers if you haven't already.
Brembo brake covers on standard PBR brakes.
If you want cool looking brakes, buy the real thing. It's like putting a GTR badge on a standard non turbo skyline. Like putting a GTS badge on an executive commodore. You want the look, fork out and buy the real thing.
Not this shit again....
Welcome to the internet where people have opinions that you might not like
paint red, buy a white marker and write brembo. fixed
2-3k? I paid 8k for my upgrade (if the missus is reading, that was 3k, I'm just exageratting for the guys)
I can see the attraction in making your car look a bit different from the norm by having a bit of bling around your wheels, but I feel you'd be destroying the spirit behind personalizing your car, because your cheapening it with mock-ups instead of the real thing. And seriously, if you've already put some time and effort into making your car gleam like I see in your avatar, I don't think you'd be truly happy cruising in those cheap things.
At least that's my 2 cents

lol but mate, im not gunna go spending the amount i paid for my car on my brakes there is no point and wouldnt pay that much even if i had the money
i havent seen them irl yet but from the net they dont look too bad so stop e-bashing me lol
Although the actual idea of them is gay. I think they look alright in real life.
I mean seriously, who is going to know you are using shitty covers when cruising along the freeway at 100 km/h. It will just look like you actually have spent the big bucks
Can you tell the difference...

They in now way actually look like brembo brakes though?
They're way too small. And you can see the brake caliper from under them...
Its like wearing a muscle shirt...
The only people that will think it looks good are total retards.
Also they wont cause your brakes to over heat and fall off. They might Melt, but thats about it.
But the majority of people have no real idea what size/shape brembo brakes are. So to them it will look expensive
You can be assured you will attract some unwanted attention from bogans driving around in their skylines cause you have drift spec brakes now
That's a good question actually, one which I don't have any set opinions about. The body kits I see up here are mainly on cheap imports and they are bloody awful to look at. I haven't seen a properly done up one, other than in mags and on some forums. And then I've seen ones that actually looked really good, but the owner still had the mod bug kicking in him, and transformed it into some spoiler packed nightmare.
The key would be having an idea of what you want your car to be, and knowing when to stop. And these brake covers are big red stop sign. I mean, they don't increase your stopping capabilities, they are there for one reason, and that's "yeah, check out my wheels, check out my brakes....No Wait, don't check em out to closely!". Kind of defeats the purpose really.
But, back to danielol, if you absolutely feel you've got to have these on your car no matter what, and it sounds like you want to, that disappointed feeling you get after a bit of having them on is the "I told you so" from me!

I've said my piece mate. Pretty sure everyone else has said there opinion and therefore you will get no respect from us here, nor will you get much respect for them on the street (if that's what your after). Thing is, if you want the look, you pay for the real thing. Don't get cheap imitation shit which isn't even real. A brake caliper cover FFS....looks tacky, stupid, try hard and gay. But you do realise that they are gay as aids...??
Go ahead and buy them if you want...your choice, your car and you can make your own mind up.
Some people will put any type of cheap EvilBay rubbish on their cars and this is just another example of it.
Those blue covers in the picture above sure look like the plastic they are and go well with the cheap alloys fitted with the elcheapo tyres. '
Stick on plastic brake covers really go well with hot brake calipers. What will the morons come up with next.
There is a safety concern with these because if they come loose (as they probably will eventually) there is every prospect of the plastic material breaking up and potentially fouling the brakes. You don't want any loose foreign material floating around near your brakes potentially impairing their free operation.
Daniel, I would check with the authorities in VIC on their legality or otherwise in VIC before wasting your money on this plastic rubbish. They sure do not fall within the currently approved vehicle modifications category and they are a fitment as such to the brake caliper. I would be surprised if the authorities in VIC were to inspect them on your car and then give them a tick . But please take it up to them and prove me wrong.
