Hey guys,
My aircon appears to have gas in it, yet it doesnt work?
Now before I go paying some mechanic some bullS**t amount to fix it im gunna give it a go myself.
It appears to have gas in it.
The orange light come on when I push the a/c button.
The relays all appear to be serviceable.
The clutch on the compressor seems to be kicking on and off.
It just blows hot air and its really inconvenient in summer.
any ideas?
my sister blew 1300 just getting a new compressor and getting it fitted, im mechanicly knowledged and know my way around a car just not much about aircons
cheers m01st
Check to see if the heater tap is shutting off properly.Ive seen this cause the A/C to blow hot air before.Ive no idea where the heater tap is located on the VY though, someone else here should be able to tell you.
If the ac cluthch is cutting in and out that often means thire is low gas. it could also be a problem with your tx valve eather way you will have to put gages on it to work it out !
When the clutch kicks in does it stay on or cut out again?
Feel the metal ac lines in the engine bay, does one of them get cold?
Best and cheapest option would be to drop into an auto aircon specialist, they should be able to diagnose pretty quick and be cheaper than a mechanic.
Simply hooking the machine up and checking pressures of the high and lows will give a pretty good indication of whats going on.
