hi peoples .. thought id come in here and pic a few brains cause in here id say their are some compared to the mechanics that ive had my car to lately..
firslty i bought a VT hsv clubsport r8 from Motor Sport in Kenwick ( guys whatever ya do DONT GO THEIR FOR A CAR ) THEY ARE DODGY ..
Now, my problem has been that since i bought the car when you go to open the car via the remote or lock the car via the remote only the left hand side lights flash if you open the boot with the remote also then all lights flash but no alarm on this at all any ideas? now im asking this incase it might be something that could be causeing my other issue.
since i bought this car ive so far in 12months replaced the diff. cvs rear. front seal, radiator, althernator, condensor x2 compessor, starter motor, all pulleys. all belts. tx valve. air condition hoses and pipes, sunroof had fully serviced.exhaust. map sesor, oxygen sensors x2. relays. fuses.
now these repairs have cost me in excess of 13000 dollars and i still have the engine light coming on. have checked codes or so the mechanic says..
i picked my car up friday at a cost of another $900 the car went in due to lack of power chugging and rough run. th eengine light kept coming on..
when i drove home the light didnt coming on any more until today then up she came again and again the car became sluggish.
Anyone have any ideas here , my car has been to 4 mechanics including holden i have also replaced the body control sensor still nothing... please if you have any ideas would love to hear it ..

lol you went to motor sport, you silly silly man. biggest bunch of rip off idiots. mate bought a ba xr8 nothing but problems . paid 21k a few years ago, spent bulk money respray took it back in 4 months later cos he needed the cash they would only offer 14k for it. one of the salesman would take a used car home and do curb rashing fun in them.
13k is a hell of a lot of money just for repairs, you could ask Holden to clear all the error codes then drive around a week or 2 and go back again and see what new ones it logs. I read that they have a memory of past errors even if they are fixed unless its cleared. (dont quote me on that though)
From the sounds of things the engine light is probably caused by a faulty sensor but the mechanics should be able to scan that and tell what one it is, it thinks something is wrong and I assume the sluggish feeling is probably the car going in to limp home mode.
At worst, if its not just a sensor fault it might be something internal if the sensors are all working fine.
Lots of people here have had the same problem and its been covered many times if you try to do a search, I haven't had any problems with mine so I didn't pay much attention to the most common causes but it shouldn't be too hard to find.
go to pro auto mate they know ls1's back to front
spark plugs and leads?? mainly cause you havent mentioned them but they can make a difference
hi thanks for your coment
i have replaced the oxygen sensors and map sensor plus relays and fuses. also on the paperwork the mechanic gave me he has listed .. motor running rough ecm light coming on all the time check for codes then he has eng/trans P0108. P0121,PO133,PO134,P0135,PO153,PO154,PP0155,PO327,
PO523,P1133,P1153 THEN SAYS body control module 17 instrument s 08 says replaced map sensor and oil pressure sensor recheck for codes found one code PO154 02 sensor bank 2 out of range so their ya have it and that makes no sense to me being female lol

Also to add here , after tightening up the loose battery terminals thats when we got the error engine light when the car was cruizin the next day. and it slowed down as you said probably went into lymp mode.. had to keep giving it a bit of a boot to get it to move along ..
today i went up to perth again from mandurah were i live and it seemed to run fine no lights came on im sure its got a mind of its own lol
anyways back to the shop this week see if their is any codes come up
For the ecu problems then maybe replace the ECU or swap it for a mates just temporarily to be sure there isnt a fault in the hardware. it's one thing you could cross off your list

hi guys again its been a while since i posted basically ive had the car in and out of mechanics and also auto electricians. sheesh
My son recomended after having a look under my dash that i take my car into someone and get them to rip out all the excess wiring that was in the car i must admit that after picking the car up and getting a box yes a box of wiring including tracking systems extra imobilizers and wires the car does actaully have more speed, but still not up to scratch.
each time i have taken it to the mechanic they have fixed what the codes are then removed old codes and after a couple of days another code comes up and so it goes.
ive had the oil pressure switch done and the map sensors and oxygen sensors relays have been done body control module has been done. we tried putting in another ecm that brought up traction control and abs problem which is different to what i had before.
once again they fixed up a few more problems and i picked up the car only to have the light come on again this time now it comes up with trans sensor something or other input and also low oxygen level on bank 2.
which if had replaced.at one stage there my lights would flicker all the time but now thats stopped, yesterday the indicator stalk started ticking like the flasher unit was playing up or a globe was blown but the flickers still work when i put them on but when it goes back to the middle it does the fast tick but without being engaged have to hold the lever to stop it. but today it didnt do it again sheeesh
my son recons put some blue tak on the dash were the light is hahaahah funny boy ..
also the mechanic told me this the other day can someone tell me if this is right as never heard of it.
he said to me. " you have put extractors recently on your car yes"
agreed i said
so he asked me if the guy that had fitted them had put the right gasket goo stuff on?????? as he said if youdont put the right one on it will effect your sensor????? anyone can answer that one plz
havent seen your car around the 'drah mate, i live here too.
shame about the problems, what a dodgy car yard
