2004 VY SS Wagon not changing gears and making some wierd noises ... HELP!

ive been working on a mates 2004 VY SS wagon.. now.. did a full service. eg plugs all filters all fluids a gearbox service and new brake pads

now... the issue he has is i got a phone call today. the car was making a loud banging noise after he stopped accelerating @ about 20-30kmph and also a tinny rattle..

this was the first alarm bell

now... he was on his way up a hill at about 80kmph. it was stuk in 2nd gear revving its guts out.. wouldnt change up..

little help ont his would be great.

EDIT: it had been running absolutely fine all day.. untill about 2 hrs driving had kicked in

box is bugged more than likley my mates statsman did the same the clutch pack for third and fourth is stufed. check the fluid level but i say i may be termanal

would this have been a result of the service.... The box haddnt been serviced for bout 100k kms i thought maybe the new fluid was an issue

sounds like it got a bit hot in 2nd up a hill and shat itself

it sounds like the gear box has been out n not put bak on propley isnt there a knack wen putn the box bak on!?
