vy ss seat belt pretensioners

I have a driver and passenger seat out of a vy ss, but neither of them have seat belts as they were removed by insurance company after an accident.

So I am just wondering if anyone knows how easy these are to install and which other models are compatible if any? I have vt berlina II seats spare if they could be utalised.

The pre-tensioners are different in the VT to the VY ones but they can be adapted to fit. These things are firmly attached to the seat rails by a series of solid rivets which would have been designed to meet an ADR. If you remove and replace them, I think you would have to use high-tensile bolts or rivets equal to the originals.

Thanks for that mate, atleast now i know i have to customise the ones i have or just buy some genuine VY model tensioners. If i get a VY model tensioner, will it just bolt straight on if i have all mounting pieces?

For anyone in the situation after me:

VY seat belt pretensioners are different if your car was manufactured between:

1)Up until 03/2003

2)From 04/2003 up to 04/2004

3)From 04/2004 and beyond

There are 3 different series of tensioners with the VY.

All are around $190 from Holden Dealers.

Lucky for me, my seats came out of option number 1 (12/2002) and I can use earlier VX model tensioners which should be alot cheaper and easier to find 2nd hand.
