blew my stock front speakers in my series 2 berlina 2004 vy 2 model, and looking to replace them but have no idea what size speakers to get, im looking to get some decent ones but not quite top of the range, i've been sussing an alpine site, which of these would fit into the front 2 spots in my commodore?
Alpine Electronics of Australia
i bought some s type alpine speakers from autobarn for like $60-70 i think.. they go alright hey
i think 6.5" if you take out the spacer/make your own, and 6" if you plan on using the spacer. i have 6" in my vt.
I would recommend alpine they make some quality gear.
I am running the 2 way 6.5" type R's (not the splits version) in my VS and they are excellent.
Installed them into 2 other mates cars as they were also surprised on how well they handle the low end and overall sound quality makes the type S sound hollow and pathetic.
alright well looks like i'll be investing in some 6.5" type R's than, thanks for the help.
seeing as you drive a car with stock front plits, why not upgrade the whole front speaker package while you are at it? the type R front splits arent to much more and you will get much nicer and cleaner sounding hi's from your speakers, as well as hearing an improvement in your mid and lows?
what do you mean the whole front? theres only the 2 speaks in the front? left and ride sides?, or do you mean the ones on the back doors too?
I have 6" pioneer champion series in front doors disconnected the rear door speakers and put 6x9's on the parcel shelf pioneer champion series ....... what can i say "makes you feel like a champion!" XD XD
Only problem now is the bass the 6x9's produce shakes the parcel shelf like crazy
My 2 cents
Welcome to the internet where people have opinions that you might not like
I believe they are a odd size up the back of the vt, not 6x9
well i have been doing ALOT of research into car audio because i am in the process of a complete upgrade. came across this amazing website: Sound Master Car Audio - Best prices on Car Audio, Alarms and Accessories they are australian and based in syd so postage is cheap, im talking no more that $11. you will find all kinds of audio gear on there and the prices kill JB HI FI and autobarns lowest deals buy at least $100 every time. check them out, im sure you will find some good 6" component speakers for your car.
