you could wire it to the interior light for all it matters... you'll get the same amount of information from it

(google narrowband vs wideband o2 sensor)

What he says. If your car is otherwise stock then the fuel maps are exceedingly good. If you have a tune done then a a/f gauge will help but your tuner should have one + install a wide band o2 sensor to feed it.

You guys realy have no idea about the A/F gauge going on your comments. One of my gauges is an A/F gauge and it has been the most useful gauge i have as it was showing me my motor was running lean in the top end due to a dirty maf. once i noticed the gauge leaning out and i was paying attention to the motor i could hear the smallest amount of pinning coming from my motor.

Yes it will bounce around a bit untill you have a tune but to say its useless well your just wrong

mine is using the factory sensor on the passenger side exhaust via the purple wire. However the super charged motor has the 4 wire sensors so it might be a different colour to my na vy.
Yeah the gauge will move all over the place and look stupid but you need to know how to read it.
It will work better once you have a tune.

I was under the impression that the supercharged motors had the 4 wires and the NA motors had the 2 wires, going my your user name you have a series 2 so i guess that some where along the line holden changed them

you just need to find out which wire is the signal wire and tap into it. the sensor will send into to the ecu as per normal and the gauge will also get the signal

Interesting, i wonder if my whole loom is the same as the supercharged then. I knew the series 2 had higher flow cats like the supercharged. But i didn't know this. Judging by the date the car was made, it would of been close to the last off production line in the VY series. Maybe they ran out of the N/A looms lol.

how do u tell wat one the signal wire is cause i know from the ecu wiring diagram that each of the o2 sensors have 2 wires that run back into the ecu (D13 & D14 for the right bank and D15 & D16 for the left bank)
