Im just curious. Im my ss sedan my manual and vir says I have a 75l tank. But on the empty line reading 0km to empty the most it takes is 55l.
I've never run out but surely there's not 20l below the empty line?
Well mines 65L but SS maybe be bigger.
What I've been told is that the distance to empty is a recommendation, not an exact figure. it's like a fuel light, if it's flashing it's telling you really need to do it, if it's solid it's in the next 10k's or so, but it doesn't show that.
As I said, from what I've been told. As if the tank could actually read when you have 5k's left with like a litre in the tank. I've gotten to 10k's til empty, and i still had 4-5 litres left.
It will never completely empty because there is a small compartment within the tank where the fuel pump resides. The pump can never exhaust the fuel tank completely because it has to be immersed in fuel to keep cool and be able to operate. I think ther's about 8 litres that can't be scavenged. Generally, when my car is down to less than 50 km range, a refill will take just on 63 litres, so there is still a fair bit left in there.
Yup, exact same figures from my VY Exec =)
yeah every vy petrol has a 75L tank.. unless its been changed to a long range tank by the police force or something
