Hi,
I have a vy commodore exec series 2 2003 with 232000ks on the clock. Service every 10000kms and very well maintained. Dual fuel and it runs very smoothly.
Recently it started making white smoke and its getting a worse day by day. Its winter 10 degrees in the morning, i agree there is condensation but my car can fog all cars around if i stop at the lights.
I made so research and it might be a blown head gasket. If its the head gasket, would the car run smooth as now and there is no strange noise from the engine. Any ideas and help guys????
Love my car and im worried!!
Cheers
to check if its a blown head gasket, take your oil cap off and look on the cap and look for like white slimy crap on the cap.
could be transmission fluid getting sucked into your inlet manifold......? if you've not lost any performance, then it has to be something small, letting in oil into the chambers... are the plugs fowled? oil cap milky? some cars do fog up out of the exhaust system more than others but not a white smoke .....
Check coolant for loss/signs of oil. Does it still seem smokey after it's been running for a while?
I always feel my car blows more condenstion/steam than the cars around me - it just seems that way.
"You want fast, reliable and cheap ? You'll find a Commodore out there that can provide any two out of those three!"
check all your fluids engine oil, trans oil, coolant. headgaskets can be hard to identify been blown as it depends were the gasket has failed coolant/oil gallery, coolant/piston, piston/piston. coolant/oil gallery will give u either milky cap or dirty coolant also oily residue on cap. coolant piston will spit some fluid from exhaust and will be smokey/foggy. piston/piston will run rough and show in its performance.
hope this helps.
but is it constant or does it go away during the day
