Default Thermal Grease on Ignition Module and coils?

Has anyone ever applied thermal paste to the base of their coils and base of the ignition module and if so how much cooler would the coils run? cheers

What? Why? Are you attaching a heatsink to your coils or something?

I can't see how putting a highly conductive paste of the coil pack could possibly end well.

Thermal paste doesn't cool stuff down, it allows heat transfer to the heatsink.

Yeah,Ive never done this when replacing coils, there is nothing like that used on them when they come from the factory so they dont need it anyway...

the only time ive needed thermal paste is in between the processor and heatsink on my computer.
can see why youd want to use it on your coils.

Oh I've used thermal paste in my car before. I used some on the ground cable for the Oxygen sensors, wasn't sure if it would help, but it certainly wouldn't hurt.

But on the coils where you have a lot of volts, spreading a highly conductive paste around is just asking for trouble.

+1 I've used conductive paste/grease on my plugs/leads before so I can remove the leads easily without ripping the insides out of them.

My mates has a intel I4 heatsink and fan mounted on the ignitor in has car too cool it down works a treat especially when mounted in cabin. He was told by tuner you need a heatsink to draw away as much heat as possible to help them work better

Heard you only have to do that if you want to overclock your coils aswell :-p
